Anyone who has the opportunity to cultivate land in Zimbabwe does so. Wherever possible, corn or vegetables are grown.
In order to train the Umhambi children in this area, a part of the grounds of the Drop-in-Center was converted into a field for agriculture. The children are taught the basics of farming, and they manage these areas themselves. However, it soon became evident that only maize can be grown there, as the baboons which roam around freely and in great numbers either destroy everything else or eat it themselves.
In the meantime, therefore, there has been a cooperation with two farms in the vicinity, to which Misheck takes the children at regular intervals. Here, they help with tilling the soil, as well as sowing and harvesting, an important basis to prepare for later life on the farms.
